Praski Hotel Warsaw

Praski Hotel Warsaw hotel

Praski Hotel is located in a historic building from the beginning of the 20th century, in quite a close proximity to Warsaw's Centre, on the right bank of the River Vistula welcomes all the guests with a small lobby. At the reception desk of this two star hotel you will meet a helpful lady, who will provide you with the keys to the booked hotel room or will help you in case any problem occurs. The hotel is popular among the guests, who look for a private atmosphere, but wish to stay close to the city centre and various tourist attractions. "Praski" is prepared for the guests coming to Warsaw as tourists. However the corporate guests highly appreciate the Praski Hotel as well.
The staff at the reception desk speaks Polish, English, German and French.

Rooms

There are 31 rooms of various size and standard prepared for guests in Praski Hotel; three singles, 23 doubles and five triples. When it comes to the differences in standard, some of the double rooms are equipped only with washbasin, but no bathroom. There are toilets and showers in the corridors for the guests who have chosen that kind of room. There are huge discounts for such rooms, so if you come to Warsaw for one night or you prefer to save some money, they are worth considering. In the hotel, there is one room prepared for the handicapped. The room itself is not much different from the rest, but the bathroom is especially arranged. There are also two lifts in the hotel and the guest will not be disturbed by any stairs on the way to their room.
One should compliment the person responsible for the arrangement of the rooms. The equipment is the kind you would expect in a hotel with two stars. Beds, lamps, a table, chairs and a wardrobe are something everybody expects in a hotel of such a quality. Not everyone expects, however, the arrangement prepared with an excellent taste. Especially I liked the colors of the rooms. There are two predominant colors in Praski Hotel, mainly dark green and dark red, and the rooms are arranged in either one or another. In some rooms the colors are combined in an incredible way creating a really nice view. Window shades and curtains make you feel at home. There is a TV-set, radio-clock and a telephone in every room.
There is a balcony in some of the rooms, but it is difficult to relax on it, due to the location near to the main street connecting right- and left-bank Warsaw. The guests, who stay in rooms with windows facing North, can enjoy the Praski Park view and the polar bears' run that belongs to the Warsaw Zoo located nearby. Looking out of the window you can observe them relaxing in the sun.
The only disadvantage that I have noticed in the hotel is the lack of rooms prepared for the non-smokers only.

Restaurant

There are two places you can visit to have dinner or any other meal in Praski Hotel. The first one is a Lebanese restaurant "Le Cedre". In "Le Cedre" you can enjoy a real Lebanese feast. If you go to the restaurant in a group, you should consider choosing a special set, prepared by the chef. Thanks to such a set you can, first of all, taste the whole range of Lebanese dishes and secondly - save some money. Just remember, that those sets are prepared for really hungry ones and ordering them with no need can result in lack of energy because of too much food eaten. For a regular meal, I suggest ordering "kofta" - a traditional Lebanese meal made of minced meat. Be careful! It's hot!
Shishah is one of the interesting attractions you can enjoy in the Lebanese restaurant. Tobacco, with the flavor of strawberry or apple (better one!) is served in a big, ornamented water pipe. Such an attraction costs about 75 zlotys, still it is worth trying.
On a special request (placed at least about a week ago) there is a special event organized, which will surely please many travelers. It is belly dance. Such an attraction is not cheap, still those traveling in a group should consider it, as it is really interesting. A guest can buy Lebanese souvenirs in "Le Cedre", however I think it is more reasonable to buy Warsaw souvenirs, while being in Warsaw. But I might be wrong…
"Le Cedre" is open from 1:00 pm till 11:00 pm. The prices in this restaurant are a little higher than those in an average restaurant in Warsaw, still they remain on a reasonable level. I only do not recommend buying alcohol in "Le Cedre", which is exceptionally expensive. Maybe it is due to the Lebanese tradition and culture which forbids drinking alcohol.
The second place is the "Armenian Tavern" located in the third floor of the hotel. The tavern offers a wide range of dishes from the Armenian cuisine and some of the Polish and international one. Wooden tables attract the guests promising a pleasant atmosphere. A guest can choose between a pork shank, royal trout and a duck the Polish way. You can have a meal for about 8 EURO. Next to the snacks and main meals you can order something to drink from a wide range of different kinds of beer, wine or vodka.

Conference rooms

There is one conference room in Praski Hotel. It is prepared for about fifty people. The rooms is equipped with air conditioning, over-head projector and a flip-chart. On a special request, the hotel's staff prepares the conference room with additional equipment necessary to organize a successful business meeting.

Additional Services

There is a wide range of additional service offered by Praski Hotel. The hotel helps with organizing the transfer from the Central, "Wschodni" (East) Station and from the airport with a taxi from a cooperating company. You just have to point out such a need while filling in the reservation form.
The staff at the reception desk will help you organize a trip around Warsaw with a guide. The hotel offers competitive prices of such service.
You can also book the place in a Water Park located about 150 meters from the hotel. There is a swimming pool, a gym, bowling centre etc waiting for the guests.
The hotel offers help by renting a car in one of Warsaw's companies.
There is a guarded parking zone next to the hotel (about 5 EURO/24 hours).

Praski Hotel Warsaw

Location

Praski Hotel is located on the right bank of Vistula River right next to Slasko-Dabrowski Bridge. Such a localization enables easy access to most of the Warsaw's tourist attractions. To get to the Old Town, if the weather is fine you can go for a short walk across the bridge. The Old Town is right on the opposite side of the bridge.
It takes only about 15 minutes to get to the city centre by bus. The nearest subway station is only two bus stops away.
On the opposite side of the street the hotel is located next to, there is a green Praski Park, where you can take a walk or relax on one of the benches. I only do not recommend taking a walk in the park after dark. Right-bank Warsaw can get unfriendly in dark, secluded places. Next to the park, there is a Warsaw Zoo, which lures the guests with new attractions prepared for the visitors.
About 200 meters away from the hotel, there is a huge shopping center (Warszawa Wilenska), which is a paradise for shoppers. There is a lot of shops, a supermarket and a pharmacy in the Wilenska Centre.
There is a little supermarket right next to the hotel as well.
"Baj" theatre located about 100 meters from the hotel is a must for the youngest visitors to Warsaw. Unfortunately it is closed during the holiday period.

To get to the hotel from the Central Station you have to take the bus no. 512 or 160 and go to "Park Praski" bus stop. The hotel is on the right.

To get to the hotel from the airport, you need to take the bus no. 175 and change to the tram no. 32 at "Pl. Zawiszy". The tram goes to "Park Praski" tram stop.

In both cases you can take a taxi. I strongly recommend against taking a taxi waiting directly by the airport or by the Central Station, as their prices are 50-100% higher than those offered by other taxi companies in Warsaw.
