Wilanow Palace and Park

The Wilanow Palace, the residence of King Jan III Sobieski and the love of his life - Queen Maria, is a place of frequent visits of the guests coming to Warsaw. It is surely a place to visit for the history and palace interior lovers. Taking a guided tour of the palace is highly recommended. Otherwise the Wilanow Palace will not bring much joy to the average tourist.
On the other hand the exceptionally beautiful park is best enjoyed on your own. Paradoxically, not many tourists know about it. The problem is, most of the tourists wander around the Palace. It is enough to go a little bit further and go down the scarp and left, to get to the Chinese Arbor and further to the Roman Bridge; or left towards the Chinese-English Park (entrance: 5 zlotys ? less than 2 USD).

Practical Information: The Wilanow Palace and the neighboring park were built as a summer residence of King Jan III Sobieski. It is one of the most precious monuments of the Polish baroque. The museum housed inside is one of the most famous museums in Warsaw.

To get to the Wilanow Palace you can take the bus no. 130, 139, 163, 164, 519, 700, 724, 725, 116, 117, E-2 or 522 ("Wilanow" bus stop).
