Shopping in Warsaw

If needing more, the Warsaw citizens visit large grocery stores (like Geant, Leclerc, Carrefour etc.) and shopping malls (Galeria Mokotow, Arkadia, etc) If it is less that the need to buy they choose a walk to a local shop.

If you do not lack patience I recommend a visit to the 10th Anniversary Stadium, which was a pride of the communistic authorities and nowadays it is the biggest bazaar of the Europe. There are stands along the paths leading to the crown of the stadium, with various things to buy (mainly clothes, electronic etc.). And on the crown you can buy... anything. The neighbors from behind the Eastern border, as well as those from the Middle and Far East and Africa offer their goods for little costs. Do not get surprised by the sight of City Guards' officers fighting with the trade of illegal programs, music, films, smuggled alcohol and tobacco.

If you go to the 10th Anniversary Stadium please remember to take special care about your wallet. It is a place where you can buy anything almost for no cost, but at the same time the crowd there is a paradise for thieves.
In 2008 the bazaar on the 10th Anniversary Stadium was closed.
