The St. Andrew's Apartments located at the very elegant and prestigious Chmielna Street is a place that will satisfy especially those looking for comfort and intimate, home-like atmosphere. Very often the businessmen being on a business trip stay here for a shorter or longer time. They praise the privacy they are provided here with (there are maximum three suites on each floor). The record breaker stayed at the St. Andrew’s Apartments for four years! The Apartments are located in a tenement-house with a charming courtyard. The house was built in 1900, lately renovated. It makes a huge impression with its snow white façade and the ornaments. St. Andrew’s Apartments is a place where two advantages are combined: silence (no vehicular traffic is allowed in this part of the street) and being in the direct city center.
There are special discounts provided in case of longer stays.
Rooms
There are 24 apartments of various sizes (55-90sq.m.) waiting for the guests. They overlook the courtyard or the street. The hotel’s staff tidies up the apartments every day. The comfort of the non-smokers is of a very high importance as well – there are apartments prepared only for them. You can really feel like at home here. The door-knockers attached to the doors make a really nice impression. The colorful lights and the huge Christmas-tree in the courtyard during winter will make you feel the magical atmosphere of that period.
As far as the apartments are concerned you can choose the JUNIOR SUITE prepared for two people or two-bedroom SUPERIOR or EXECUITIVE SUITE. The latter ones are different from each other with regard to the size and the beds. The SUPERIOR apartment is prepared for three people, as it has one single and one double bed. The EXECUTIVE consists of two bedrooms with a double bed in each of them.
There are bathrooms with a bathtub or a shower cabin and a fully equipped kitchen (washing machine, dishwasher and a microwave) in every room. Apart from that, you will find such amenities as: direct phone and fax line, radio and cassette recorder, cable TV, video recorder, private safe and a free of charge modem Internet connection. Additionally, for the guests’ safety, there is a video entry phone in every suite.
Although there is a driveway leading to the reception area and there is a lift taking the guests to the higher floors of the hotel, the disabled will not find complete comfort here. There are some stairs to go up in front of every entrance. Additionally, there are no rooms prepared especially for the handicapped.
Restaurant
The residence does not own any restaurant, however it cooperates with Café “Miêdzy S³owami” (Between the Words) one. Not only can guests eat their breakfast here (included in the room price), they can come to have a decent lunch or spend a nice evening over a glass of wine. You shouldn’t worry however. The localization of the Apartments creates endless “culinary opportunities”. Just having passed the gate, you can see the restaurants and diners serving meals from the Polish and international cuisine. There is, for example, the “Sfinx” Restaurant just around the corner, the “Taqueria Mexicana” with its great interiors a little bit further and many, many more…
You can always order something on the phone or cook something – you have a fully equipped kitchen in the suite, don’t you?
Additional Services
On a special request the reception staff will organize a medical service or baby-sitting service if necessary.
The reception desk is open till 7 pm every day, after that you can always ask the security staff for help. The additional feeling of safety results also from the monitoring system installed in the hotel and the custom of closing the gate to the courtyard about 11pm.
The only problem you may encounter is the parking zone. You can use the parking zone next to the Palace of Science and Culture or the underground parking zone of the hotel Gromada (not guarded, about 9 EURO per day). If you stay in the hotel for a short time, you may want to consider parking in one of the neighboring streets, but it can be difficult due to the constant crowd there. I suggest asking the reception staff for advice.
Attractions nearby
If you choose to stay at St. Andrew’s Apartments, you also choose to stay close to all the attractions of the capital city. Apart from the many, neighboring shops (mostly with exclusive offer and prices), you can enjoy the near proximity of the Royal Tract, that leads to the Old Town on one hand and to the green Lazienki Park on the other. There are also banks and various kind of offices located close to the hotel.
The central localization of St. Andrew’s Apartments results in excellent transport connections in case you would like to go anywhere further.
Being co close, it would be a sin to miss the opportunity of tasting one of 17 types of hot and cold drinking chocolate served in the cozy interiors of the oldest chocolate cafés in Poland – the old-fashioned Wedel Shop in Szpitalna Street.
